It’s true what his web site says "The best doggone realtor on the beach." That's how we feel about Jerry Speight. Jerry showed us a wide selection of homes in different areas of the OBX, and he researched each home before we went to see them to try and find us the home that best matched our requirements. No request was too much for him. We are happy to say that we found the best house for us and it was one of the first homes Jerry had recommended; I guess he knew what we were looking for from the beginning. We are happy to say that not only do we have a beautiful new home on the Outer Banks, but we also have a new friend, Jerry.

Thanks again for all you've done for us.___ Joe and Ricki

Before listing my house with Jerry, I worked with another well known Realtor®. I was amazed at the difference in focus and effort that Jerry put into selling our house compared to the previous Realtor®. Jerry made lots of suggestions on how to differentiate our house from all the others that were on the market. Jerry not only made suggestions, but helped coordinate the work and was persistent at getting all the work done in a timely manner. If I had another house to sell, I would call Jerry. He did a great job for us. Thank you.___ Michael Mettenheimer, sold Pine Island Oceanfront May '08

(Michael Mettenheimer again.) Jerry sold my Ocean Front house in Pine Island in May 08.  About six months after selling the my house I felt that the market in OBX had softened a bit and there may be a good opportunity to invest in a house again.  I instructed Jerry to keep his eyes open and call me if he saw an extremely good deal.  I was not really sure I wanted to purchase another house at this time, but if it was a really compelling deal I would consider it.

Sure enough, after a few months Jerry contacted me and told me about a Semi Ocean Front house in Pine Island that was a Foreclosure and would soon be coming on the market.  Jerry contacted the listing agent and previewed the house.  Since the house was a foreclose, there was a fair amount of damage to the house and quite a bit of work that would need to be done.  Jerry informed me that as a foreclosure it would be sold as-is, where-is.

Jerry and I worked on a plan to purchase the house, that involved having a house inspection done before we submitted an offer.  This would let us know exactly what repairs would need to be done to the house before we submitted an offer.  By taking these steps up front we could submit a non contingent offer, which we believed would help set our offer apart from other offers that the bank would be receiving.  As it turns out there were 9 offers on the house, including a couple that were higher than ours.

As a result of Jerry's hard work and plan we were able to submit an offer to the Bank that was more attractive than the other offers that they received, and we ended up getting the house.  Although it is a little to soon to tell, we believe we got the house significantly under market value, even with all the work that needs to be done to the house.___   Michael Mettenheimer, bought Pine Island Semi-Oceanfront Oct ‘09

Dear Jerry,

Finally, the day has come that I can say I own my own Outer Banks home. Thanks to you my friend. We knew that it would eventually happen if we just had the patience. You do not know how much I appreciate the hundreds of hours you have spent researching homes within my price range, taking me to see so many nice homes and finally guiding me through the steps of making offers, counter offering and playing the waiting game. All your hard work and expertise has made me a HAPPY woman in this tough economic time of real estate.

It is not often that a client finds a Realtor® that goes under houses doing inspections, looking on roofs for leaks and offering a year’s worth of home warranty on a home that had been sitting empty for almost 2 years. As a newcomer to the Outer Banks, your familiarity of the community made me very comfortable in the search of my “beach house.” I believe that I have found much more that a Realtor® in you and can honestly say that you are a “true friend.” You looked out for my best interest at all times and often times put up with my quirks when it came to what I was looking to be in my new home. I can’t wait to have you, Elvis, Clyde and Earl over for our long awaited celebration of steaks on the grill at the new house.

Please add me to your fan list and refer any and all new clients to me so I can sing your praises as to you being the best doggone Realtor® on the Outer Banks.___Denise Lambiotte

Jerry is one of the best Realtors® I have ever had the pleasure of working with and having been a mortgage broker I have worked with quite a few. Jerry made the purchase of my Pine Island home easier than the last car I bought.___ Courtney Aquaviva

Thank you for your professionalism, kindness and willingness to “go the extra mile" to assist Courtney in the purchase of her Pine Island Home___Gene and Nancy Seitz

I have worked with several Realtors® in the past and have never been as impressed and pleased as I've been with Jerry Speight. He was very knowledgeable of the laws and codes in the area. His thoroughness allowed for a smooth progression in the process of acquiring the property. Best of all, Jerry is personable and continues to keep in contact with us. We have recommended him to family, friends and colleagues and have received positive feedback.___Dr Palmieri and family

Since 2002, we have bought two oceanfront properties with Jerry’s help. One is an eight bedroom investment property in Pine Island and the other is a four bedroom old-style cottage in Duck that we live in when we are in the area. The houses and locations are very different, but Jerry’s knowledge of the area and the real estate market provided the information we needed to know that both properties are great investments. With his attention to detail and experience, both closings went smoothly and we have never regretted buying either place. How often can you say that you have remained friends with your Realtor® long after the sale? I wouldn’t trust buying or selling real estate on the Outer Banks to anyone but Jerry. ___Linda and Tom Mink
